Podium magazine cover.

This is my concept for a magazine cover to promote the new Podium "Winter Collection". I used the Podium logo in a slightly darker grey to the background. For "Winter Collection" I used a layer mask to expose a photo of some snowy mountains, this also gives the page some colour and makes it the main focus of the page. For the "winter Collection" and the date in the top left I played with the leading and kerning to get either a dense block of text or to make the letters far apart.

 For my concept of the double page spread I chose to separate the pages into a photo, to convey the product, and text which would contain the information about the products. I set the background on the right to a bright yellow to give the page some colour and contras with the photo, also the black text text sits well on this colour. I used the same "Winter Collection" from the front page without the mask of the photo. Down the center of the two pages i put in some orange and yellow block the help connect the two pages, and make them look more like they are part of the same topic. I also use the work "HELLO*" to connect the two pages.

Creating a website in Flash.

First I created a new action script 2 file and added 4 layers, they are called background, content, buttons and actions. Next I made key-frames for background, content and buttons at frames 10, 20, 30 and added blank frames up to frame 40. For the buttons layer I inserted blank frames up to frame 40.

In the content layer I added a title to each of the key-frames and a blue background to each of the key-frames.

 The next step was to add and script the buttons. I inserted pre-set buttons and to them added script that said:

The number in the brackets is changed to determine the position of the play-head on the time line when the button is clicked.

To the actions layer key-frames I added the script stop (). This means that when one of the buttons is clicked and the play-head moves to the chosen frame then  play-head stop.

To add text to my webpages I have to create a text box and into that I need to put a scroll bar so that when there is too much text for the box, the user can scroll down the box the see the rest of the text.

Podium logo animation.

To create this logo animation I used Photoshop's frame by frame animation tool. I broke up mu logo into the three colours and set them at different sides of the frame. I then created a new frame put them in their final places , I then selected the two frames and tweened them over 60 frames to create a smooth movement.
